- Spot trailer
so hoses will reach lead-in pipes.
- Check
storage tank gauge - write % on ticket.
- Locate
water tank and check wind direction. Notify dispatcher immediately
if water is not available at site.
- Chock
trailer wheels.
- Close
bleed off valves.
- Put on
gloves, goggles and other required safety equipment.
- Remove
Acme caps.
- Hook up
hoses, first vapor then liquid.
- Slowly
open Fisher valve on pump, listening for excess flow valve on pump to
click.
- Open internal
vapor for vapor.
- Check
transport vapor pressure, then storage tank vapor pressure - equalize
pressure before starting pump.
- Open liquid
valve very slowly on transport, then open all liquid valves on storage
tank.
- Put PTO
in gear and lit it idle.
- Check
to see if product is pumping, if not, shut off PTO, then liquid valve
at hose and then repeat step 10. PTO speed should be set at 650 RPM
(no higher), once you start pumping.
- You must
stay within an arms reach of emergency shut off device while pumping
with the exception to check on other vital and necessary procedures
of unloading.
- You must
remain in visual contact with all hoses associated with unloading procedure
at all times.
- Upon completion
of unloading, check gauge to verify trailer is empty.
- Return
engine to idle and shut off PTO.
- Close
internal valves.
- Close
trailer valves.
- Close
storage tank valves.
- Bleed
off hoses into water only. Do not bleed to atmosphere, especially in
populated areas. This could take several minutes. Be careful!!
- Unhook
hoses.
- Drain
all liquid from both hoses and put them into rack.
- Put Acme
caps on.
- Close
bleed off valves.
- Take jackshaft
off and put in truck.
- Take tank
gauge reading and fill out tickets.
- Remove
chocks and put away.
- Visually
inspect area to ensure you have all safety equipment, jackshaft and
there are no visual signs of ammonia leakage.
