Trailer Unloading Procedures
Anhydrous Ammonia
Stay with the truck while unloading. In the event of an accidental release, operator should immediately engage the remote conrol shut off device. Shut off power/PTO. Refer to emergency instructions.
  1. Spot trailer so hoses will reach lead-in pipes.
  2. Check storage tank gauge - write % on ticket.

  11. Check transport vapor pressure, then storage tank vapor pressure - equalize pressure before starting pump.
  12. Open liquid valve very slowly on transport, then open all liquid valves on storage tank.
  13. Put PTO in gear and lit it idle.
  14. Check to see if product is pumping, if not, shut off PTO, then liquid valve at hose and then repeat step 10. PTO speed should be set at 650 RPM (no higher), once you start pumping.
  15. You must stay within an arms reach of emergency shut off device while pumping with the exception to check on other vital and necessary procedures of unloading.
  16. You must remain in visual contact with all hoses associated with unloading procedure at all times.
